Information
Lyon Study Center
This year-long, full-immersion program allows students to
experience France and its culture first hand. Students take
classes in the French university system with French natives
and other international students. You'll come back to the US
transformed by this charming country and its people!
Courses not only fulfill
requirements for French majors at SLU, but for several
others too. At the same time, students can complete some of
their core requirements while in Lyon. A wide variety of
academic opportunities in Arts, Humanities, Sciences and
Business is available to students at the four universities
involved in the program.
Traditionally, classes
start in late September after a three-week orientation. The
two-week Christmas break comes in mid-December, and classes
resume in early January.
Courses Available
All type of courses, taught in
French, are
available in this program. However, due to the French
educational system, courses are not available until the student
has arrived in Lyon. A sample of what previous SLU students have

Housing
Students have the option of living in the dormitories, staying
with a host family (most popular), or sharing an apartment with
a French roommate, oh là là! Students receive a stipend for
meals and accommodations.
Program Fees
The total cost of the program fees, including tuition, room
and meals is $18,000 per semester for the 2008-2009 academic year. All SLU financial aid and scholarships, with the exception
of those geared specifically towards housing, will go with the
student. In addition, a mandatory $250 international
insurance fee per semester will be added to the student's
account.

Requirements
In order to obtain admission, which is not guaranteed, a student
must meet the following requirement(s):
- 2.75 GPA
- 2 Years of college French
- Not be in academic or
disciplinary probation
