Information
A
Roman Town, a trade center, city of poets, of kings and queens,
cathedrals and traditions. London, the capital of eight million
people. Straddling the River Thames, it covers more square miles
of elegant squares, green parks, museums, monuments, and elegant
shopping streets that you could hope to explore in a lifetime.
Over forty live theater companies, five major orchestras, plus
several opera and ballet companies make London their home. The
scores of performances, concerts and recitals all over the city
make London the cultural center of Europe. The British Museum,
The Queen’s Gallery, the Tate Gallery and the National Gallery
provide opportunities to view many of the world’s great art
treasures. Over two hundred other museums and galleries covering
a wide variety of subject areas await the curious student in
London.
London Study Center
Academic
facilities for the
program are located on the campus of Imperial
College of the University of London. Classrooms, program office,
lounge areas for student use are available in the Imperial
College union Building in Beit Quad. The center itself is
situated within a few minutes walk of the residences. It is near
Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, the Natural History Museum,
Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and just up the
road from Harrod’s Department Store.
Internship
There is the possibility of
completing an internship in London. Qualified juniors or seniors
with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA are eligible for this 12 semester
hour program composed of 6 hours of internship, 3 hours of
international business or issues in journalism course, and 3 hours of the
British Life and Culture course. These courses cannot be
changed.
A wide variety of internship
assignments are available to suit the background and interests
of students. All internships are non-paying positions.
Assessment will be conducted by the on-site faculty internship
director.
Internships in other fields are
available for qualified students and are arranged on an
individual basis.

Housing
Accommodations are provided in student apartments with two to
six students per room. Each room contains beds, study desk and
wardrobe. Most contain kitchenettes, private bathroom and toilet
facilities. Other rooms share common facilities. Meals are not
included.
Program Fees
The total cost of the program fees, including tuition, room
(no meals), and some excursions is $15,395 per semester for the 2008-2009 academic year.
All SLU financial aid and scholarships, with the exception
of those geared specifically towards housing, will go with the
student. In addition, a mandatory $250 international
insurance fee per semester will be added to the student's
account.

Requirements
In order to obtain admission, which is not guaranteed, a student

- Not be in academic or
disciplinary probation
